Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer purchasing from BALETA Handmade at a distance, you generally have the right to withdraw from an eligible contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
For the purchase of goods, the withdrawal period generally begins on the day on which you, or a third party nominated by you other than the carrier, receive the goods.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to communicate your decision to withdraw before the 14-day period has expired.
How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must clearly inform BALETA Handmade of your decision to withdraw from the contract.
You may do this in writing, by email or by using the model withdrawal form below.

Your notice should clearly state that you wish to withdraw from the contract and should include sufficient information to identify the relevant order.
From 1 October 2026, where applicable, you may also exercise your withdrawal right using the online withdrawal function provided on this website.
Online Withdrawal Function
For contracts concluded through the online shop, BALETA Handmade provides an online withdrawal function where required by law.
This function provides an additional way to exercise the statutory right of withdrawal.
Use of the online function is not mandatory. You may also exercise your withdrawal right by email or by another clear statement.
From 1 October 2026, Austrian online shops must provide an easily accessible online withdrawal function during the applicable withdrawal period. The function must allow the consumer to submit the withdrawal electronically and receive confirmation on a durable medium such as email.
Effects of Withdrawal
If you validly withdraw from the contract, BALETA Handmade will reimburse payments received from you in connection with the eligible goods.
This includes the cost of the least expensive standard delivery method offered for the original order.
If you chose a more expensive delivery method, such as express shipping, the additional cost above the standard delivery charge will not be refunded.
Reimbursement will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless expressly agreed otherwise.
We may withhold reimbursement until the goods have been returned or until you provide evidence that you have sent them back, where permitted by law.
Returning the Goods
After exercising your right of withdrawal, you must return the goods without undue delay and within the applicable statutory period.
Unless otherwise agreed, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning goods following an ordinary statutory withdrawal.
Please contact BALETA Handmade before returning the goods so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.
We strongly recommend using a tracked and appropriately insured shipping service when returning knives or other high-value products.
Condition of Returned Goods
You may inspect and handle the goods only to the extent reasonably necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.
You may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is reasonably necessary for that purpose.
Please return the goods securely packaged and, where reasonably possible, with any original packaging and accessories.
Your statutory right of withdrawal is not dependent solely upon the original packaging remaining unopened or pristine.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply in certain cases.
In particular, it may not apply to goods that are:

made to the consumer’s specifications; or
-
clearly personalised.
For BALETA Handmade products, this may include goods incorporating permanent customer-specific features such as personalised engraving, names, initials, inscriptions or other individually specified modifications.
A product does not automatically lose the statutory withdrawal right merely because it was produced after an order was placed. The exception depends on the extent to which the goods were genuinely made to the individual customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
This exception does not affect your statutory rights where goods are defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to conform to the contract. Austrian guidance confirms the general 14-day withdrawal right for online purchases and the statutory exceptions for customised/personalised goods.
